Welcome to Wood Estate.
You are invited to join me, James McDiarmid, and my team in our long and painstaking mission to convert this enchantingly beautiful, Grade I listed, Devon country estate which I bought from Noel Edmonds in 2008 into a world class spa and surgery centre.
I am one of the UK’s leading plastic surgeons and from the first moment I set eyes on Wood I knew it was the perfect location for realising my dream. The inscription on the main gate: ‘Spes Mea in Deo’ translates as: ‘my hope is in God’. Written around the acorn logo it certainly seems a fitting motto for such an ambitious project
The fact that it was in need of modernisation was perfect for me as I wanted a project to shape in my own way and put my mark on. Even in an unkempt state the gardens were breathtaking and the house unassuming, friendly and warm. We hope you will follow developments at Wood as I supervise the restoration and provide a regular blog.
I thought the acorn logo was a wonderful piece of design and have adopted it as our brand, after all, every oak tree begins with a single acorn. Please watch our acorn grow and flourish and share the highs and lows with us.
We plan to open the centre as soon as possible.
